Sony has updated the iOS / iPad OS version of the "PS Remote Play" app. The updated version is 4.0.0.

As a major update, iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 now support the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. You can play PS5 / PS4 games on your iPhone or iPad using the PS5 controller.

The DualSense controller itself is already available on the iPhone / iPad as a new feature on the iOS 14.5 / iPad OS side.

However, with the official support on the PS Remote Play app side, the variable resistance trigger "adaptive trigger", which is a feature of Dual Sense, can now be used during his iPhone / iPad remote play.

Adaptive trigger is a function that gives programmable resistance to L2 / R2 triggers using gears and motors.

For example, in "Returnal" dedicated to PS5, the secondary fire mode switching of the weapon is added by pulling L2 strongly to the general shooting mechanism of pulling L2 for focus (aim) and pulling R2 for shooting.

Even without an adaptive trigger, you can shoot separately by assigning different buttons to the primary and secondary, and in fact it is possible to have such a button array even in the return.

However, by giving two types of modes to the aim side, you can operate intuitively without increasing the number of buttons, and if you pull it with all your strength, the HUD display will change even on the screen. It also leads to a production that raises the tension, such as the start of the charging sound.

(If you write "pull halfway", it is an image that requires a delicate amount of force, but the adaptive trigger can reproduce the feeling of having a strong resistance in the middle and bottoming out. If you put more effort into it, you can use it properly, such as releasing the forbidden pressure.)

To connect DualSense to his iPhone / iPad, press and hold the share button and PS button on the left side at the same time to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. If the light bar around the touchpad starts blinking orange quickly, you need to add it from his Bluetooth settings on the iOS / iPad OS side.

Once paired, from the next time you will be able to search for the previous Bluetooth connection destination with just the PS button, but you need a USB wired connection once to pair with PS5 again.

The USB-C cable is also attached to the PS5 main unit, and there is no problem with commercially available general-purpose products such as for smartphones (limited to those that are not dedicated to charging), but if you take the PS5 to a remote place, you can have the cable at hand. If you pair DualSense with Bluetooth in the absence of it, you may not be able to reconnect to the PS5 on the spot and it may get stuck.
