[E-book touch and try by Masahiro Yamaguchi] Amazon.co.jp “Kindle (8th generation)” Entry model starting at 8,980 yen is thin and light. Newly equipped with Bluetooth-PC Watch

"Kindle (8th generation)" is an entry model in the "Kindle" family of e-book terminals equipped with E Ink electronic paper sold by Amazon.co.jp. Although it does not have a front light and is only a Wi-Fi model, it is reasonably priced at 8,980 yen for models with campaign information and 4,980 yen at the time of sale.

The 7th generation model, which is the previous generation, was released in October 2014, so this product is a new model that appeared for the first time in 1 year and 9 months. During this time, Kindle Paperwhite, which is one rank higher, has introduced a new model with an improved resolution of 300 ppi, but this product has continued to be sold without any specification changes, except for the addition of the white model in the middle.

The major feature of this 8th generation model is the reduction in size and weight of the main unit. In particular, the weight is only 161g, which is lower than the 180g of the lightest class Kindle Voyage, except for the Kindle Oasis with the battery cover removed. Also, compared to other companies' E Ink-equipped terminals, it is lower than Kobo Aura (about 174g) and 1g different from Sony PRS-T3S (about 160g), so it can be said to be the lightest class. It is unusual for an entry-class product, where price is generally emphasized and other factors are often secondary.

This time, I will deliver a review of the model (black) with campaign information that I purchased for this 8th generation model.
