Nyantomo Windows by Shinobu Takahashi
By the way, now that telework has become widespread, various problems arise when you try it. Especially when Nyanko appears during a meeting, everyone's eyes are drawn to it. Nyanko is good, but another big problem is the sound of life and noise.
Actually, audio is more important than video in online meetings. A conference can be held without an actual video, but if the audio is interrupted, the conference is useless. And one of the voice problems in telework is that various sounds enter.
If the family is turning on the TV, the sound will come in. The sound of the doorbell when the delivery service arrives, the sound of the vacuum cleaner when the family cleans. For example, if you raise the quality of the microphone and make it better, you end up picking up all kinds of sounds.
On the video side, a function such as automatically detecting people and blurring the background has recently been implemented as a function of "Zoom" and "Microsoft Teams". Technology to eliminate "noise in images" is advancing rapidly. On the other hand, for voice, such technology has not appeared. But suddenly there's a solution for high-performance audio noise cancellation that's out of the ordinary. That is NVIDIA RTX Voice.
NVIDIA RTX Voice is software released by GPU manufacturer NVIDIA. It is a software that erases the sound other than the speaker's voice using AI from the microphone.
The noise-less voice is output as a virtual microphone input for NVIDIA RTX Voice. Since it is just a normal microphone on Windows 10, it can be used with various apps on Windows 10.
As you can see when you try it, it's surprisingly noise canceling. Input on the keyboard while listening to music on your laptop. Anyone who has done it knows how bad the noise is. BGM that people can hear is picked up by the microphone, and the sound of keystrokes is picked up by the microphone as an explosive sound. The keystroke problem is a very big problem. However, through NVIDIA RTX Voice, music and keystrokes are almost completely inaudible. Even if you clap in front of the microphone, it is almost silent.
This NVIDIA RTX Voice is already perfect, but unfortunately it cannot be used on all PCs. This is a feature that cannot be used without an NVIDIA GPU. This is because the processing of the AI part of this noise reduction is performed using the GPU.
To use NVIDIA RTX Voice, a video card equipped with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX or Quadro RTX series is required. However, although I think it will be out of support, I have confirmed that it works on GeForce 1000 series.
Setup is just installation and microphone specification.
- Download and install the app
- After launching, set the microphone for input and check the noise canceling function
Output There is also a device specification, but even if you don't specify it here, a virtual microphone called NVIDIA RTX Voice is added and output from here, so you don't need to specify it.
However, the Output setting may be important when using "Zoom" or "Microsoft Teams". This is because the noise contained in the voice from the other party can also be filtered out on the output side.
The sound of keystrokes and daily life sounds in online meetings is not noticed by the person making the sound. And I know it's hard to get rid of that noise. So most of the time no one points it out. Even in such a case, noise from the other party can be erased by processing on the output side.
In order to use the output of processing the OS's standard microphone input with this NVIDIA RTX Voice, set it on the Windows 10 settings screen. Open Settings, select System, and open the Sound screen. Select “Microphone (NVIDIA RTX Voice)” from the drop-down list in the Input column. Now all microphone inputs on Windows 10 are noise-cancelled.
In the test environment, background music is played, and keyboard keystroke sounds are generated near the microphone.
NVidia RTX Voice TestWhen using NVIDIA RTX Voice, BGM with Japanese lyrics is almost gone. Although some keystroke sounds remain, the keystroke sounds that are mainly generated from the direct vibration of the notebook PC are almost inaudible.
Well, NVIDIA RTX Voice is easy to set up, but there are some problems. Here, we will introduce how to deal with two cases.
First of all, if there is no RTX series GPU, an error will occur and installation will not be possible. In that case, you can deal with it by modifying the installer.
First, close the screen where the error occurred. Then, open the “Temp” folder directly under the C drive with Explorer. First, set the permissions so that you can modify this folder.
- Make sure you have the “NVRTXVoice” folder
- Right-click the folder and open Properties.
- Select the Security tab.
- Press the Edit button
- A new dialog will appear
- If "Everyone" is missing, press the Add button and add "Everyone". Create
- Select “Everyone” and check Full Control
- Press OK to close all dialogs ol>
- Open the “NVRTXVoice” folder
- In addition, open the “NvAFX” folder.
- Launch "Notepad"
- Drop the file "RTXVoice.nvi" in the "NvAFX" folder into Notepad
- Contents and delete the 3 lines from "" to "".
- Once saved in a different location
- If there is a "txt" in the extension, delete it
- Copy over the original folder
- Open Settings (Windows + I)
- Open the System screen
- Open Sound from the left menu li>
- Open [Sound Control Panel] from [Related Settings] on the right
- In the [Sound] dialog, select the [Playback] tab (probably selected)
- Right-click the device list and check [Show Disabled Devices]
- Start NVidia RTX Voice
- The item "NVidia RTX Voice" will appear in the list. Right-click and select [Enable]
Now that you can edit the contents, it's time to modify the installer configuration file. This configuration file is the file “RTXVoice.nvi” located in the “NvAFX” folder inside the “NVRTXVoice” folder.
After deleting, press [Ctrl] + [S] or select [Save] from the file menu to save. However, it may not be possible to save as is. In that case
Let's do it.
After that, you should be able to install by running "Setup.exe" in the place where you went back one folder.
There are various cases, so this method may not always be heard, but there was a case that I was addicted to, so I will introduce it.
I was able to use it properly at first, but at some point an error message appeared and Nvidia RTX Voice could not be started. At that time, I got an error message like this "Initialization failed" and it ended.
Similar cases seem to have happened overseas, and some of them have been discussed on forums, etc., but other than reinstalling or rebooting fixing my environment, There was no way to improve.
So, in conclusion, I was able to solve it, so I will introduce how to do it. All you have to do is modify the registry in one place. In addition, since the registry is touched, it is recommended that only those who can read and understand the following sentences do it.
Open the "Registry Editor" and open the following key.
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Render\{887a5279-60ed-4488-a254-b6c1c36386ff}

If you don't have the above key, open "\Render" and press [F3] or [Ctrl] + [F] to search for "NVidia RTX Voice". I think that it will be caught in the “Properties” column. The one step above is the corresponding key.
This key is a virtual speaker for RTX Voice, and noise-canceled audio flows through this virtual speaker. In this, there is the Status of this device, but it should have been set to "0x00000001" as a normal state, but for some reason the value was "0x10000004". Correct this to "1".
The Nvidia RTX Voice Speaker is now fixed and ready to start.
Added May 12
The cause is the same as Case 2, but basically if the NVidia RTX Voice Speaker is not enabled, you can enable it in the control panel.
This process should start it.
One of the biggest noises that humans make is snoring. So, in fact, cats also snore. I knew When I was watching TV on the sofa, I heard a strange sound of "kuu~?, ku~u~?"
Well, if you snore this cute, you don't have to cancel. Each cat has a different snoring, so this is fun.
