Oh, I know this feature...
Google has not only Android but also various platforms such as Chromebook and Google TV. Along with CES 2022, the company introduced a future where platforms can work together more smoothly with the Fast Pair function. Fast Pair is a convenient function that allows you to connect earphones and headphones to Android smartphones immediately without setting Bluetooth.
Google says that in the coming weeks, Fast Pair headphones will be able to pair with Chromebooks and easily switch between them with smartphones.
Later this year, the Fast Pair feature will be available on Google TV/Android TV as well. For devices paired with the "Google Home" app, the Fast Pair function works using the smart home standard "Matter".
Fast Pair will also enable file sharing with Nearly Share, which can sync Bluetooth settings and text messages between Android smartphones and Windows PCs.
Easy data transfer from Android to Chromebook
Functions such as the ability to quickly set up a Chromebook from an Android smartphone and transfer photos from the Android smartphone's Phone Hub app's camera roll to Chrome OS. is also provided. It's kind of like AirDrop on the iPhone. Chromebooks will also be able to use smartphone chat apps without any pre-configuration.
Unlock with your Wear OS smartwatch
Wear OS lets you unlock your Chromebook, Android phone, or tablet from your smartwatch. This Wear OS unlock feature will be available in the coming months.
Personally, these new features give me the impression that they're Apple's features, but I'm happy that they're still more convenient. Also, I imagined that the cooperation between Apple and Google would be smoother.
