New iPhone models coming in 2018 may not come with the Lightning-3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, which is required to use wired earphones and headphones with the iPhone.

Apple has abolished the earphone jack in the iPhone 7 released in 2016 and has promoted the wirelessization of the iPhone.

However, many users want to use wired earphones and headphones, so the "Lightning-3.5 mm headphone jack adapter" is included.

The adapter was also included in the iPhone X and iPhone 8/8 Plus released last year.

At the Q1 2019 Cirrus Logic Inc Earnings Call conference call with adapter supplier Cirrus Logic's Q1 2019 earnings report, Barclays analysts asked about the possibility of a 10% drop in revenue next year.

"I think this is about headsets and I think it's already widely rumored," said Jason P. Lord, CEO of Cirrus Logic.

It has been pointed out that it may not be included in the three new iPhone models that are rumored to appear in 2018, although it will continue to be manufactured due to continued demand for the Lightning-3.5 mm headphone jack adapter.
