Rolls -Royce Ghost New, Ultimate Luxury ... Released in British home

<06:20

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars (hereafter, Rolls-Royce) released the new "Ghost" (Rolls-Royce Ghost) in the UK on October 22nd. Deliveries are scheduled to start in December.

The new Ghost is said to be the most technologically advanced car Rolls-Royce has ever produced. The only components inherited from the original Ghost are the bonnet hood mascot, the “Spirit of Ecstasy” and the umbrella.

Everything else was designed, developed and built from scratch. The result is the most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce ever. Based on the spirit of "post-plenty", it expresses the ultimate luxury while eliminating the glittery design that symbolizes superficial wealth.

"Illuminated Facia" where stars shine in the car

It adopts a strong aluminum space frame structure. The body size is 5546mm in length, 1978mm in width, 1571mm in height and 3295mm in wheelbase. Subdued lighting illuminates the Pantheon grille, designed to complement the Rolls-Royce emblem.

One of the new equipment adopted in the new model is "Illuminated Facia". It will be the latest bespoke innovation developed by the designers, engineers and craftsmen at Rolls-Royce's Goodwood headquarters in the UK.

Illuminated Fascia was developed over two years and over 10,000 hours. The dashboard is designed to glow with over 850 stars and ghost nameplates.

The illuminated fascia is located on the passenger side dashboard. When you start the engine, constellations and ghost characters appear. This world's first bespoke equipment is inspired by the "Starlight Headlining". Starlight headlining is equipped with hundreds of fiber lights to create a starry sky and a fantastic atmosphere inside the car.

The Starlight headlining can be dimmed with a controller in the roof compartment and doubled as a reading light. Rolls-Royce says the Starlight headlining is one of Rolls-Royce's signature pieces, along with the Spirit of Ecstasy on the front hood, the Pantheon grille and the 'double R' monogram.

The Illuminated Fascia is a response to feedback from Ghost customers. The new Ghost was developed according to the policy of pursuing a post-gorgeous design direction. Under this policy, Rolls-Royce's Bespoke division has decided not to use mere screen technology for illuminated fascias. Instead, they set out to create a highly complex and genuinely innovative luxury.

The illuminated fascia lights up with 152 LEDs. A 2mm thick light guide with over 90,000 laser-etched dots was used to ensure even illumination of the Ghost letters. This not only distributes the light evenly, but also creates a shimmering effect that complements the subtle shimmer of the Starlight headlining.

Illuminated fascia is made possible by a three-layer composite material. One is a piano black substrate that is laser etched to remove the black color and shine through the ghost letters and constellations. This is overlaid with a darker shade of lacquer to hide the letters. The illuminated facia is sealed with a layer of pigmented lacquer and then hand-polished to perfection. As a result, a completely uniform high-gloss finish with a thickness of 0.5 mm was achieved.

◆ Latest "Magic Carpet Ride" that realizes a ride like a magic carpet

Equipped with the world's first "Planar" suspension system. Rolls-Royce's unique magic carpet ride, "Magic Carpet Ride" is said to be further evolved.

The suspension design has been completely redesigned, adopting a suspension system called Planar. Named after the word planer, which refers to a perfectly flat, horizontal geometric plane, the system is the result of years of development and testing, and it feels like you're flying on the ground. It is said to come true.

Planar's system consists of three technologies. The first is the upper wishbone damper unit, which is mounted on top of the front suspension assembly for superior ride comfort. It will take three years to develop, and Rolls-Royce says it will be a world first.

The second is the "Flagbearer" system, which uses a camera to read the road surface conditions ahead, and the suspension system prepares for changes in the road surface in advance. The third is "satellite aided transmission". It uses GPS data to pre-select the best gear for the corner ahead. Rolls-Royce says the Planar System allows the new Ghost to anticipate and respond to even the most demanding road surfaces.

V12 twin turbo has a maximum output of 571ps

The new powertrain is equipped with a direct-injection 6.75-liter V-type 12-cylinder gasoline twin-turbo engine. Maximum output is 571ps/5000rpm and maximum torque is 86.7kgm/1600rpm. The transmission is an 8-speed AT, and the drive system is 4WD.

The vehicle weight is 2530kg, but the power performance is 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 250km/h (limiter operation). 4WD and 4-wheel steering pursued an unprecedented sense of balance and stability.
