Currently, the plate materials used in high-performance racks are surprisingly thin, but the reason why they still exert excellent effects is the wide-band performance with a high signal-to-noise ratio and low vibration distortion. More important was the material and structure of the columns that support the board. This time, I compared the sound quality of the one-stage "GMR-1" and the company's conventional product "TMR-1". It was equipped with an Accuphase power amplifier "P-4500", and the floor was carpeted. When it is set to "GMR-1", it changes drastically to a sophisticated high SN ratio. To be honest, I was surprised at how much difference it made. The sound is highly pure and has little distortion and turbidity. Tested by mounting the Accuphase power amplifier P-4500 on the one-stage "GMR-1" in the listening room of Masamitsu Fukuda. The TMR-1, which was also compared with the company's conventional model "TMR-1", has a structure in which a magnesium cylinder is installed as it is, so there is no doubt that this is the power of the newly developed spike structure. The space is wide and clear, the sound is quiet, and the transients in the mid-high range are excellent. Bass tightens powerful energy and has high damping performance. The TMR-1 feels slimy and sweet, and the bass feels thick and loose. The price of "GMR-1" is higher, but its value is higher. It shows the performance that brings out the true value of the power amplifier to the limit. Since Grand Magnesia is a stack type, it can be expanded as needed. However, since the vibration of the speaker is finally transmitted to the floor, it is better to take measures. Anyway, it is easy to think that the power amplifier is not very delicate, but it was a test that can be understood that it is subject to the conditions of the installation environment. The board material is a composite structure that combines 9 mm and 12 mm of Russian birch, and is designed with further ingenuity in rigidity. This excellent composition has been adopted for the wall material of the room by remodeling, and the board has been made and examined by myself, so it is an easy-to-use and reliable material among the board materials.
